01 Origin of National Day

On October 1, 1949, the founding ceremony was held at Tiananmen Square in the capital, Beijing. Amid the rumble of salutes, Chairman Mao Zedong of the Central People’s Government solemnly declared the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Under the leadership of the People’s Republic of China, a great victory in the people’s revolution was achieved. On October 1, 1949, China was established, which was the greatest change in Chinese history. At the first session of the CPPCC in September 1949, it was decided to make October 1 the National Day.
